July is going to be an exciting and busy month! Check out the events below:
Thursday, July 12
Outdoor Movie Night: City of Bees
On Thursday July 12 at 9:15 pm there will be a screening of the movie “City of Bees” (30 minutes) at the Spiral Bench Park (Lamphere and Chalfonte). This is a kickoff event for the new honeybee garden project for kids ages 7-11 that will meet on Thursday evenings from 7-8 pm at the new garden space across from 14910 Lamphere. Refreshments will be served. For more information call Billie at 541-2601.
Saturday, July 14
Low Cost P
et Care Clinic
10 am-2 pm at Stoepel #1 Park. The Michigan Humane Society will host clinic to provide low-cost vaccinations (Distemper, Parvovirus, Rabies and other deadly diseases) at Stoepel #1 Park (W. Outer Drive and Evergreen). MHS will also offer low-cost micro-chips and spaying and neutering for the dogs and cats of income-eligible owners.
Monday, July 23
Neighborhood Meeting on Security
7-8:30 pm at St. Christine’s Soup Kitchen. Come with your ideas about radio patrol, neighborhood watch, etc.
Wednesday, July 25
Eliza Howell Nature Walk
6-8 pm at Eliza Howell Park. Butterflies and wildflowers – Fun for all ages!
July and August
Volunteer Management Classes
If you would like to become a vo
lunteer host for community projects please get in contact with Kat to make a class appointment. In July and August classes will be held in small groups by request. Lots of volunteers will be coming our way throughout the rest of the Summer and into the Fall so please book a class ASAP! Contact Kat at 989-6692.
